Winter is still clinging to the air here in Utah Valley, and I am wishing for warmer days. Looking back on our trip to St. George I remembered a home by K Welch Homes that seemed to be a fan favorite, and I had to share it on the blog with you all. Despite us touring the home in the morning on a Thursday, no less, it was still packed like sardines in this beautiful 5500 square foot home! Everyone wanted to come see this crown jewel.
Its atypical design for the St. George area gave this home its uniqueness, one that literally drew crowds. This home, in my opinion, is quite the accomplishment for Natalie Welch as she seamlessly combined the cozy casual feeling of “home” with contemporary and timeless flare. Custom lighting and fixtures adorn the house like jewelry, giving it the custom look I believe they were going for.
All of these photos are by Mykal Bush from Mykals Photography. His Architectural Photography is stunning, and you really ought to check him out. Located in St. George
One of my personal favorite features of the home is this stunning wall of sliding windows that convert the home into one great piece of art; a free-flowing passageway from indoors to outdoors. Having the backyard visible from the front door always makes me swoon. 😍
You are constantly connected to every part of this house, no matter where you are. Light pours into every space, making it feel fresh and airy.
Another practically perfect space in this grand family home is the upstairs home theater. Movie posters from different cinematic eras dress the walls, with beautiful brass sconces to set the mood. Of course your home theater wouldn’t be complete without reclining sectionals on wide stadium steps, and a pool table with your own snack and drink station.
Alright, if we’re getting real, this home office makes me drool. Equipped with everything an architect would need, right off the kitchen and foyer. Easy access for clients, and a butler’s pantry ten steps away, for when you get snackish working on those late night projects.
This home as a whole is pretty breathtaking. But I’d be lying if I said that the backyard wasn’t the main attraction.
This is pool perfection. A very real need in Southern Utah, a family home just wouldn’t be complete without your own private pool, and this one has it all: a waterfall, fire pit, waterslide, lounge chairs and an umbrella in the shallow end, its own lazy river, and of course a “top deck” hot tub embracing another waterfall. Not to mention the tiny house! What?! Absolutely stunning.
So let’s talk: This place is hardly easy to duplicate. It has “custom” written all over it. But for us average Joe’s (*cough cough* ME) money doesn’t grow on trees, and our hearts yearn for beautiful design, but in a more affordable price range, am I right? So let’s see how we can make this work.
